month 1

hey all, just realised that its been a month since I've been in victoria, melb. Wow. Reflecting back, I can still remember day that i flew, waking out really early, anticipating the live telecast of the 49th Grammy Awards, hoping to catch some dixie chicks. :) jumping up and down, screaming and banging my knee on the table when the chicks won ALBUM OF THE YEAR and subsequently all 5 grammys including the big 3, ALBUM OF THE YEAR, RECORD OF THE YEAR AND SONG OF THE YEAR for their non-apologetic song "Not Ready To Make Nice". Finally! vindication for the chicks and all DCX fans! All the alienation, bans, ridiculous amt of crap they persevered through the 3 years finally paid off with a resoounding acknowlegement from the grammy music association, for their immense talent and bravery. Five for fighing, chicks! Can't wait to see Shut Up and Sing.

Anyways, on the plane, my mom ad I were being squashed between two big size ang mohs and had to make a run for the toilet each time they get up. Hence, disrupting my whole oscar movie maraton that I've pre-planned... arh. Then, when we went to collect our bags, lol, i couldn't lift my huge luggage off the moving belt thing. I was like tugging at it and it wouldn't budge, I ended up moving together with my heavy luggage along with the travellator, looking like a total woozy, until a nice indian man helped me with it... and I didn't know what my mom was doing! she just left me to do all the heavy lifting while she hid behind a pillar sms-ing. Argh! Then when we reach the apartment, i accidentally scratch my hand against some sharp thing in the cabbie while I was carrying the baggage out from the trunk with no help from certain someone yet again. Now i have like scars from tt, its like 4 lines, kinda resembles a cat claw. The climax of the day was when we opened the apartment door, we were so astonished at the amt of junk and filth and stuff that mountained the whole place. Literally leaving a pathway leading from the door to the living room and to the rooms. Haha, I'll show ya all the before and after pictures of the apartment after some major scrubbing..

Anyways to cut things short, the first few days in the land of Oz was brutal for me. I was like in semi-depresssion. I was really lost and frustrated and the weather didn't help much. It was constantly at 35- 38 degress celcius the whole day and now tt its summer, the days are so much longer, night fall only comes at 8.30- 9pm. The whole apartment was like an oven, cooking me and my mom. Furthermore, there was no air-condition and even at night, it was still warm. Ahh, I seriuosly regretted coming over at that time and was at my lowest pt. I remmeber wanting to fly back to Singapore, to see all my friends and ah ma and everything else that was familiar. I even question God if i am really meant to be here and thinking it could be a huge mistake leaving jc. All the letters that ppl gave me were really helpful. I was reminded of the love, encouragement and support you all have for me.

Well now, a month later, I sure do not regret leaving the stressful, pressure-cooking Singapore education system for a much leisure, enjoyable and challenging, independent and 'domesticated' as karen calls it, lifestyle. I truly feel that I'm growing more as a person, progressing slowly into young adulthood and learning to trust and feel more comfortable in my skin. This is a very exciting chapter of my life and I'm glad to share this with y'all, even though you're an ocean away. LOL. btw, today marks the day I cooked for myself without any help and probably was a bad idea cus I totally butchered my meal and now I feel so gross and disgusted.., hope i dont get diarrhoea tomorrow. :(

All the best to my fellow saints and friends who will be taking their first block test soon, may God keep you safe, healthy and give you all the strength, wisdom and understanding you need.

seeya all next time, hopefully able to show ya all the pics I took from day 1.
