"Wide Open Spaces"

Who doesn't know what I'm talking about
Who's never left home, who's never struck out
To find a dream and a life of their own
A place in the clouds, a foundation of stone

Many precede and many will follow
A young girl's dream no longer hollow
It takes the shape of a place out west
But what it holds for her, she hasn't yet guessed

[Chorus:]
She needs wide open spaces
Room to make her big mistakes
She needs new faces
She knows the high stakes

As I lay on my very comfy couch watching my newly bought "An Evening With the Dixie Chicks" DVD, for only 11 bucks from my latest fav cd shop: JB HI-FI, I couldn't help but realise that my song of the year had to be Wide Open Spaces. The song speaks about a young person leaving home and venturing out in search of a whole new life, adventure and meaning. It is also when character is molded and shaped by new challenges, obstacles, mistakes made and lessons learnt.
I truely hope that at the end of this year, when I reflect back on every entries I've made, I hope to see growth and maturity as well as breakthroughs and at least signs that I've changed and progressed.

On another sad note, I'm so incredibly sad and disappointed with myself. I can't seem to remember being in SA. Hey, its not like I had dementia and forgot that i did a year in SA, I just can't recall the feeling of being in SA, of being in the cafe, the CC where we'll all eat sweets, sleep, talk and try to concentrate, understand, laugh hysterically at either mrs leow animated chem lectures or the female maths lecturer for her horrendous pronounciation as well as jokes that either made no sense or super duper ultimately lame. However luckily i still remember playing tennis at the 4th level. We'll all be trying to train with all seriousness yet always failing, either laughing at my trademark tyco-ness or at tina tan's emo/model poses with the racket in hand. No matter how short my time in SA was, I enjoyed the company and all the experiences thoroughly, from orientation to my 1st 3 months class with 06s07 then to my permanent class of 06s12, to house comm elections, tennis competitions, ltc camp, organising racial harmony, amazing race and buying/ putting up cny decor with sam and anisha. My only regret is leaving my dear saint-tennisers, not getting to know my juniors especially my doubles partner jorraine and see nicole tear and smother her opponents with her zai-ness. Well not to mention missing amelia, lie-nette, jialin and the girlies a whole lot everyday!

On another note, last weekend was easter weekend. Decided to forfeit my newfoundglory tickets since paramore cancelled
go for easter camp.

Easter camp was fun but I didn't think it was particularly fantastic, I mean the programme and messages were really good but somehow I didn't feel like I benefitted much from it. It was certainly a good time to bond with my new cell grp mates, especially with sze tjen and tracy-pede and i ate so much easter eggs, freddo, snakes and nick yap's 'fantastic' instant noodles as well as tim tam's chinese brother, temp tin'. hahaha geddit? Anyways, the last night was the best, we had talent time but b4 that, all the victoria chairperson had to play a game : CHUBBY BUNNY!! whoo, my brother who's the chair for the new Frankston OCF played the game as well. Haha, i think he lou-ya. only stuffed 15 small mashmellow in his mouth. BUt the winner goes to STEVEN! my grp, redeemer's grp leader! whoo... then parkville choir came on and sang beautifully, go connie go! haha, but the funiest and most interesting part was who's line is it anyway performed by ocf drama. whaha, it was really good.

in the light of a 'unpredicted' event that is going to happen, this entry will be split into 2 to ensure that confidentiality will be maintained.

oh oh, btw I finally made a successful yummy dinner last week! HEHE!~

Ahh, Finally the dreaded lit paper is over! Oh my gosh, I feel so elated that its over but have a bad feeling that I didn't do as well as I hoped. I shuld have stuck to my guns and go ahead to memorise my 2 poems or at least 3 and not 5! sheizekoff! christine christine.. hai.
Well, tomorrow's the last paper, chemistry. Yay! I'm so exicited to actually do the paper.. haha. Maybe because its 40 MCQs only. Wha. damn shiok man. But i hope that i'll have enough time to complete and check them. Ha! This reminds me of the math test. I finished the paper in 30 mins, hanged around 15 mins more, spotted a mistake and waited for someone to leave the room before I followed suit. The paper was 90 mins long and had 11 questions. Lol. I was wondering why everyone took so long to answer them. Then it hit me, I did one year of A's. Apart from a mistake a realised later, I hope I'll be able to get at least a 97%. But anyways, it is not graded. Urgh. All that 'hardwork' was for nothing. hehe.

yesterday was the children's run and marcus and the fats went to take part in the 15.2 k run.Lol. Andrea and I woke up so early and went down separately to flinders station. Lol. it was so hilarious, I tried to take the city tram which is free but then realised that the tram only starts at 10am, then walked down to swanston to buy a sunday saver and tried to take another tram. Lucky I didn't wait for the tram because the whole of swanston street was closed for trams. In the end, I walked all the way. It was a good walk, relaxing and enjoyable. The weather was cool and the streets were rather quiet. haha, anwyays, andrea and I waited for marcus and the fats at the finishing line. Wha we waiting for a long time before marcus came running in, looking real tired. Like 15 mins later, the fats came strolling in. Haha.. They then complained that their nipples were hurting.. LOL.! hmm, no wonder there were some guys with blood stains around their nipples, my initial thought was that they must have accidentally pierce themselves when they were putting on their tags. Then i found out from marcus that when a person run long distance and sweats til the shirt is wet, the abrasion between the shirt and the nipple can be quite bad. LOL. oh mygosh, i so didn't know that! Anyways, that night, fats was feeling damn tired and aching all over, andrea came over to coach me in my lit, then during out break, she messaged the fats. It was damn funny, My brother kept like screaming, haha, in his very torn and tattered sleeping shirt. Lol. That was the highlight of the day!

Well today, after the disgusting lit exam, I had a superb lunch with eunice and reina. Went to eat what i was craving a long time for, Claypot King! haha.. Then reina came over and we had a good chat about school, uni life and whether contemplating whether we should move in with another housemate next year. She really liked my apartment and was seriously considering to move in after my brother goes back home.
Crap, I'm feeling hungry. Maybe I should go out and get some dinner now. Hai. This is what i loathe abt melb life. Food is always a problem. I cant cook so i always relied on quick fix meals but since we havent gone for groceries in a long while, theres literally no food in the fridge. like only parsley, some tyme spices and like cheese and juice left. Urgh. Sheesh, I think i'll go take a walk and see if there's any nearby stores that i can ta pao from. Crap, its quite dark already. Ahh. I should leave the house soon, haha but I'm lazy too... ahh i'll just go QV. sheesh, just came back from there.
